How to Choose Aluminium Composite Panel

ACP (Aluminium Composite Panel ) screen wall is the collaborative works of ACP industry and architectural screen wall industry. it is also the management crystallization of the two main departments in the industry.ACP can be divided into outdoor and indoor types. it can also be divided into fireproof type and general type. The general type ACP is sold in large quantities on the market.The upper and lower aluminum panel (generally pure aluminum panel) of the outdoor ACP are o.5mm, the intermediate panel is PE (polyethylene) or PVC (polyvinyl chloride), and the thickness of the panel is 3-5mm.The middle layer of fireproof ACP is FR (fire resistant plastic). The thickness of the outside ACP is 4-6mm, the thickness of up and below surface of indoor ACP usually is 0.2-O.25mm, the thickness of the inter layer is 2. 5-3mm,  and the thickness of indoor ACP is 3-4mm.What's more, the standard specification for ACP products generally is 1220 (wide) X 2440 (long) X thickness, and the width can reach 1250 or 1500mm.

The intermediate layer of ACP

The intermediate layer of ACP is PVC (polyvinyl chloride), but when the ACP burns, it will produce chlorine(poison gas), this is extremely dangerous.
Some irresponsible manufacturer, wrong to think it is doesn't matter how thin the inner aluminum plate of the indoor ACP is, so they intentionally reduce the thickness of the inner surface aluminum plate, reduce it to 0.42 or 0.3mm and even more. These people only see it from a practical point of view,but they didn't recognized that the thinning of the aluminum plate will lead to an obviously decrease of rigidity and strength of the entire ACP. This is not absolutely allowed.


The characteristics of the ACP

The characteristics of the ACP: Flat surface, uniform color and small color difference(directional),light weight,certain stiffness and strength. Due to the surface of the board is fluorocarbon coating, so ACP has the advantages of anti-acid and alkali corrosion, resistance to uv radiation and no discoloration. However, it is not realistic to believe what some instructions indicates:"easy to process, simple carpentry tools, can be processed on site". General ACP is not fire proof, when the temperature of its surface become high, the aluminum plate will bubble. For example, 0.5mm thickness ACP is easy to melt once it is on fire, the intermediate layer PE, PVC will burning and emitting harmful gases, then people have a danger of suffocation.

The common quality problems of ACP

The common quality problems of ACP in manufacturing process and their solutions. There are two quality problem that ACP often have, one of the problem is the coating quality, and the other problem is composite quality. The problem of coating quality is usually appears in the process of pretreatment and paint processing period, however, the problem of composite quality mainly occurs in the technical problems and management problems of the compound process. Some of these problems are affected by a single factor, some are the effects of multiple factors.The mainly quality problems during ACP composite process are  plate-face bubbling, plate-face trapping, lotus leaf edge and poor adhesion.
